What is Cold Brew?

Cold Brew!

Smooth rich taste: check

Strong, powerful wake-me-up: check check

Low acidity to ease your tummy: oh yeah

Here are a few systems worth checking out if you are planning on experiencing the joys of cold brew coffee in your home.

Toddy T2N Cold Brew System

This is a popular choice that gets the job done. It includes a brewing container with handle that has a hole on the bottom, that has a stopper in place.

Once fully brewed, the stopper is then removed to be place over the provided glass decanter. Includes is the brewing container, two reusable filters, stopper, and a glass decanter with lip.  I did notice that the glass decanter does seem a bit flimsy, but this over time, could easily be replaced with any carafe you have lying around.

Filtron Cold Water Coffee Concentrate Brewer

I love this Brewer.  It is very similar to the Toddy system.  Instead of a glass container it is plastic, leaving out the worries of potentially breaking. I have dropped it a number of times, and it still handles like a champ.  Initially, I was worried about it potentially leaving a plastic taste, I’m happy I gave this a chance. No plastic taste, just a nice rich coffee concentrate, long brewed and pure, no impurities or acids.  It truly produces quality coffee to start your day.

OXO Good Grips Cold Brew Coffee Maker

OXO is known for their cool kitchen accessories and this one is no exception.

This is my favorite out of this bunch when it comes to appearance alone. The brewing container looks great, and is placed on a separate stand that has the included carafe below to collect the coffee goodness.  Easy cleaning as well. Another thing to consider is that OXO has excellent customer service, so that’s a plus for them in my book.

T&Co. Cold Brew System for Mason Jars

I’d give these guys a win for their creativity alone in integrating a system compatible with mason jars.  Mason jars are durable, versatile, portable, and widely available.  So when I heard that they made a cold brew system specifically for these awesome jars, I had to check it out.

As far as quality goes, I’d pick this over the rest. For those concerned about the durability of plastics over time, T&Co uses no plastic at all.  They use a heavy-duty wire filter, with a special stainless steel lid and gaskets to keep everything leak-free.

What’s really cool about this is that is compatible with both the quart and half-gallon jars, so if you want to make smaller batches, go for it. This is really unique for us busy bodies that want quality homemade cold brew coffee on the go, without having to worry about any spills along our journey.

If and if you experience issues, T&Co is a relatively new start-up company, and they address issues quickly. Spot on customer service.

So there you have it.  As with everything, all my reviews are unbiased and no one pays me for them. Just an honest opinion for an awesome cup of coffee.  Also, yes as all affiliates go, if this did prove helpful to you, i do make a small commission.  A little something to keep bringing you quality reviews.

’til next time,
